Toy Story 4 Release Date Switched with Incredibles 2, Reveals Director

The new Toy Story 4 release date may leave fans a little unhappy. But writer and director Andrew Stanton comes up with positive remarks to support the delay.

Toy Story 4 Release Date

Recently, Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 had their release dates switched. The former releases on June 15, 2018 while the latter now releases on June 21, 2019.

Stanton says that no fixed date for a particular film stands decided from the starting. Another project doing well in terms of storyline releases first. He adds that the other project date shifts and work starts on bringing some innovation in the plot.

He further reveals that every time Pixar develops films, there are over five to six films which are already in the process of developing privately. The story for each project should be ready. Then, another factor comes up over economic reasons.

“So, if we find that another film on the stove is going well, and we can move it up, then we do a swap, so there’s no more drama than we just want to get the stories just right,” Stanton said via Cinema Blend.

Moreover, for both Andrew Stanton and Pixar, the things are not the same as they work in modern film industry. The studio remains updated over the future and then plan accordingly for the release date for each film.

Tom Hanks Ready For Woody

Apart from Andrew Stanton, Japan Today reports that Tom Hanks is equally excited to know what Pixar has planned for Woody. The American actor gets ready to voice the character Woody, a toy cowboy.

He also understands both the cast and crew, along with Pixar, need more time with the release date. Some more creativity needs to be added to Toy Story 4 before it reaches theaters.

Regarding Toy Story 4, Tom Hanks states, “We go into the recording studio and there’s a prepared text and you go off that text and you keep experimenting with it… they put it through another ring of creativity and alterations.”
