Swim deeper with Nev and Max in a new season of Catfish: The TV Show, beginning Wednesday March 1st at 8/7c on MTV.
Foolowing the success of the acclaimed documentary film, Catfish, MTV created a series that brings together couples who’ve interacted solely through their LCD screens. In each episode, a hopeful romantic partner will go on an emotional journey to discover the truth about their significant other. These unique stories are filled with mystery, uncertainty, forgiveness, joy, and sometimes, even shocking revelations.
Catfish is hosted by Nev Schulman (star of the first Catfish documentary) and Max Joseph, an acclaimed filmmaker. Nev and Max (and guest co-hosts when Max is off filming his own stuff) start each show with an introductory e-mail and video chat, followed by a first meeting with the person getting “catfished.” The show then follows a similar format where Nev and Max search the internet for clues as to who the other person may be, with each show eventually ending with some sort of meeting. Now starting its sixth season, Catfish is still immensely popular, with the term “catfish” gaining recognition as any sort of luring someone into a relationship with a fake online persona.
